5Used in my '98 Explorer  Feb 27, 2010 By Mark Forbes
The install kit worked great. I didn't use any of the extra brackets, and I did snap the tabs off the top of the ring. The instructions almost indicate this is what you're supposed to do for a standard double DIN mount. After that, insert the metal ring the stereo slides into and bend the tabs out. Then the whole thing just snaps into place in the dash. It fit perfect! Actually seems to hold the stereo deck pretty securely too.

3Looks great, but quite fragile  Jan 08, 2010 By D.L. "cheese_man"
I used this kit to install a Sony headunit into my 2001 Ford f150. Quality feels good. Looks good. However, the tabs that secure this kit into the vehicle are sort of fragile and they can break if you're not careful. Repeated removal/installation can easily break the tabs.

5A New First Choice in Kits  Dec 24, 2011 By Flymehome
A popular automotive stereo store in my small town uses American International Kits. I was happy to see this kit on Amazon. I have been more satisfied with Metra than Scosche. Now I prefer American Int'l.
I found this kit to look sturdier than the other kits, and it is solid. I especially liked the face plate arrangement. I looks clean and professional.
I too had to remove the upper (with pocket is below stereo) tabs.

NOTES:
1) If you need to remove assembly, use a very thin knife blade to gently release tabs, as a previous reviewer had tabs break. (Thanks to him for the heads up)
2) My Din tabs were too long to just be bent around the opening. I recommend either bending (or cutting) before hand if needed so the end of the tabs won't extend past the sides, top and bottom of the kit. You might want to read this again with the kit (and din cage) in your hands.
