Good display but bad everything else Aug 16, 2009
By Jim Stainer I love the display on this unit it is really bright and fun. It sounds great too. But it is a seriously dangerous toy to have in your vehicle. Trying to adjust the volume or anything else on the unit while driving is near impossible. It is super touchy and you have to be very accurate where you touch the pad to change things. That means you have to take your attention off the road to work it. The remote works fine for volume and source but who wants to fumble with it all the time. Besides there are no audio controls on the remote. To change the sub or EQ settings you have to go through 3 layers of menus and about 10 key strokes. Who ever designed this disaster must not adjust the sub and EQ for different types of music like the rest of the world.
Bottom line is it looks very cool but it is very difficult to work. I used it for 2 weeks and replaced it with a boring Alpine 9886 that has a wonderful big volume knob and 1 touch access to the audio controls. It has a lousy display but much safer and more functional. So anyone want to buy a slightly used JVC?

This is a great little receiver... Aug 20, 2010
By M. Cole I have found many uses for this thing. First off, I use the bluetooth features a ton. I have it paired to both my phone and my iPad. Making and receiving calls is pretty well painless as you can answer and dial from your phone like normal and the unit picks it up. Call quality is pretty good, I can hear the other person with no problems and haven't had any complaints about not being able to hear me. Using the unit with the iPad is awesome because as soon as I get in my car the unit recognizes the iPad and allows me to play anything from my itunes library through my stereo. The sound quality is great. The sensor functions and the controls are a bit odd to get used to at first but they seem to work well. Overall a very feature rich unit for the money, I would highly recommend it.

Good but volumn is hard to control Feb 18, 2011

Overall this stereo is great. It sounds great and has a lot of features but the Volumn control is v ery touchy. When you try to turn the volume, it accidentally changes the song to the next one and is VERY Annoying.
My next Stereo will have a Physical Volume knob although the remote works fine.
