Kenwood KVT-614 Jun 24, 2009
By Wayne R. Willcox The unit works well however there are a couple of things that is not noted in the manual. First thing is that it does support both XM and HD radio. However as I found out it will only use ONE of them. So you can have either one but not both. This is a real shame and was quite disappointing. The second thing is you can use either a USB thumb drive or the IPOD cable but not both. This limitation is not as serious because if you leave the usb connector withing easy reach you can swap them as you need to. It still is a pain however. I wanted to connect the ipod cable and leave just the end that plugs into the ipod exposed. Now I have to have all 3 wires exposed and have to stop the car and switch them when I want to use a different device. All in all it is a good unit and I like it I just wish that these limitations had been made clear or better yet not had them to begin with. I also tried using a usb hub for the usb drive but it won't read the device. A powered hub might work better but I don't have one that will work in a car to test that.

Beautiful Head Unit with some flaws Jan 31, 2011
By Gregory Kosmatka I own a Mini Cooper Convt. and wanted to be able to have bluetooth capability as well as NAV without dash mounting. I searced extensivly for a good head unit. I bought it online (not through and authorized Kenwood dealer) and had it professionally installed along with the Kenwood 510 NAV and the Bluetooth unit (both sold seperately) it was amazing. I was so pleased until the trouble started. I had the touchscreen freeze up many times and not calibrate. I called the online store that I bought it at and they instructed me to have the unit removed and send it back to them for repair. Problem is that now I had to pay to uninstall and re install once they fixed it. I went to a local AUTHORIZED KENWOOD dealer and had them look at it. They were able to get it working to the point that I did not have to take it out for repair. That worked well for about 1 year and then the touchscreen went out completely. Ughh the frustration....I went back to the dealer and had it removed and sent out to repair and it will be fixed by a Certified Tech for Kenwood. Come to find that if you purchase through a NON Authorized Dealer, the warranty is different. I will also purchase my next head unit with my AMEX as they automatically double the warranty! I will say that when the unit is working, it is one of the best that you can buy. I would suggest this unit to anyone as it is quite nice that if you are in a bad area, when you turn the car off it will tuck back into the dash and appear like a stock radio. Also, with the 7" screen and the Garmin software in the NAV it makes driving a whole lot of fun!

I have had this head unit for about two weeks now. I LOVE IT. its just like the ones that are permanant touch screens but when you turn off the car it folds itself back up. Great when you are in a bad area!! The dvd feature is great. i pod dock is a plus and the sirius is killer. have not tried to use the blue tooth yet but if your intrested in this product buy it here!!! I paid $920 for mine in the store. You CANNOT pass this up. The touch screen is great! And I highly recommend getting it professionally installed. I tried but there is just way to many wires to figure out. BUY BUY BUY!!!
