Great Amp!! The best I've ever had. May 07, 2010
By Christopher D. Walker This amp is the best. I bought a factory refurbish amp instead of a new one due to a $200 price difference and it rocks. I have it pushing two 2000w/1000rms Audiobahn AW1205N 12" subs. This amp feeds more power into these subs than they can take. I had it tested and it pumps out 1354rms into my 2ohm load. The factory said it only pushes out 1000rms. Not bad. You want be disappointed if buy this amp. It has a neat appearance and the cooling system is great. It can handle a 1ohm load, but it not recommended. Trust me, you want need a 1ohm load with this amp. A 2ohm load will rattle your entire vehicle, inside and out. I only turn my Dual CD player volume up to 10 out of 30 and the bass response is amazing. I highly recommend the bass boost controller (KAC-WR10). You will have full control over your bass right at your finger tips. I promise you, you will not be disappointed what so ever. I don't unstand why anyone would say anything negative about this amp. I only use Kenwood amplifiers and component speakers. By for, this is the best amp Kenwood has made.
X1200m Feb 07, 2012
By Rick Great Amps. I got (2) of the RM instead of the new ones. they both come in - in mint condition just like new. I hooked them up to 2- JL 12" w6v2's (they are a 4ohm dvc) wired in parallel for 2ohms at each amp. This amp will not handle both w6v2's @ 1ohm for more than a hour w/out getting very hot. (I"ve tried.) But w/ both amps @ 2ohm ea. they handle the subs just fine gain set at half. I've ran the amps hard for hours on end and they never heated up. Never turned off. UNLESS the battery Voltage drops to 9 then my hole system we shut down.
Problem solved with a 100 amp alternator & 2 battery's.
Kenwood X1200M eXcelon amp. Nov 14, 2011
By zach rosario The kenwood X1200M amp is very good! i love the price i got it at the refubished i bought around 185ish and a new one was 400$ so i saved a lot there but the only down side about the amp is that it tends to heat up very fast even though it has built in fans.
Kenwood x1200m mono amp Aug 30, 2011
By Mike Excellent product from kenwood! Worth every penny! Shipped fast! Pretty good price especially compared to others. Came in original box and packaging! Amazing sound quality and power with my two 12" KFC-W3013ps subs! Unreal power and sensitivity. Great amp!

a great amp!!!! and good power for the price Mar 09, 2010
By J. Scholl i have this amp powering two 12" Dayton MKIII subwoofers (if you've never heard of them check them out on [...] GREAT speaker building site) and let me tell you they hit HARD!!! alot of my friends are quite impressed when they get in my car. i also have a kac-x4r powering my front setup
first off if you dont know how to calculate what an amp will really ut out its VOLTZ*AMPS*EFFICENCY=Wattage
generally a car is 14.4v but with your system running you more realisticly tlaking 13-13.5v (unless you have a god aftermarket altenator) so using 13.5*90amp (3x30 am fuses)*.8(most class d amps are 80% eff unless otherwise stated) we get ~972 watts yes of course its less most amps will be as they measure at constant 14.4v power some underate there products (alpine) but generally this is the case but thats still more than enough for anyone who wants a system they can bump too. if you've never had a system before and dont have some high end sports/luxry car you will probably need a battery upgrade i recomend die hard platinum battery expensive but worth every penny
the box i have for the sub woofer is ported tuned to about 38hz i nvr turn the gain on the amp past 80% as to give the amp som breathing room (alot of ppl turn gains all the way up and blow amps or fry subs get close to what your rated for and give your amp som breathing room!!!!)
i am a total bass nut and this is still not enough for me as in addition to this ill be adding 2 more 12" kicker L7 barics (and another 2000rms amp for a total of 3600rms system). as for being one ohm stable i wouldnt try it most manufactures make amps that are stable at one ohm but if you dont have the proper wiring and are inexperienced with general cautionary procedures (for a 1200rms amp at 1 ohm i would use 1/0 gauge just to make sure amp is getting what it needs) your amp will starve esp if oyur gain and h/u are maxed out...when working with 1 ohm set ups it is imperative you give your amp some breathing room ~80% gain (audio comps are an exeption but your amp will only be workign that hard for about 5mins even then thats low resistance and alot of current be carefull)
if you are just starting out or want some hard kicking bass this is a great amp. this is not going to be the EARTH SHATTERING bass you may have heard at comps or some rich kids in school (thats talking 5,000rms+ risky and expensive for novices)
if your looking for that "cheap" setup that makes you heard 3 blocks away this amp is more than suffiecent with the proper sub set up if you have the room a 15 inch L7 baric ported(5-7cubes) ~35hz (dont go to high as you have no music value then) you will definitly get some DBZ
if you got a standard car 2 12" would suffice you could use a single 15" like above but 2 12" would be easyer to work in the trunk space as well as providing as good or better bass if properly set up
hope this helps if you have questions please feel free to ask me or other great members at [...] my usn is jcube69
