These things are pretty dang good. The mids and highs are really crisp, and I love the sound of them, but they have literally NO BASS. if you get these, make sure you get a subwoofer to go with it. Other than that, great product. I haven't tried them with an amp yet, but im sure that would help the bass a bit. I dunno for sure though

It's been a year since I bought these speakers and I cannot believe I forgot to put in a review. I have to say the speakers are excellent in quality and sound. Fit is good and easy to install. Great Product!!!

Bought these because I was on a budget and needed to get rid of the worthless 4x6"s I had in my front doors. Im not regretting the purchase, but for a few more beans I could have got some Infinity, Morel, Polks, etc. MTX used to make some nice speakers, but 1st impression out of the box was that these arent made as well as older MTX models. They look very nice, and actually have pretty nice sound, even compared to some higher priced speakers Ive tried.
Dont expect much from them because the cones are very thin and tend to lose their shape when pushed too hard. Some of my problem might be that they were made to fit in a space designed to run 4x6"s, and that there is no baffle, or sound deadening in the doors for them. However, they do sound very clean. Some of the highs can get a bit bright, but just EQ em a bit and they will sound nice n clean.
I EQ much of the bass out of these and use em almost as giant tweets with a touch of midbass. Without too much bass going thru them, you can crank them pretty loud without them getting distorted.
For the price point, I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a decent replacement speaker on a budget.
