No Way -Looks can be deceiving Sep 16, 2009

I purchased these a few weeks ago knowing that they were and are solder type (not screw type). No problem I thought at the time I will just solder the wire on myself) to save a little money you know.
First off: 1. The center melts almost immediately even when using an electrical type soldering pin/gun and proper solder. Becomes loose at center terminal. 2. The center positive terminal hole in inside the screw cap that you solder is so small it looks like it would be for phone wire only. ( maybe possible for 28 +awg or above if trim off most of wires) 3. Tension spring in rear just kept falling out on a couple of them (had to blacktape) 4. Rubber inner ground sleeve is worthless, easily damaged (had to use black tape again)
Conclusion after all that time trying to solder these I ended up just throwing them in the garbage. Two or three of them were pegging out the ohm meter when slight pressure was applied to center peg pushing from side to side. Could have cost me a grand if one fails and shorts out the receiver.
