I did quite a bit of research on this particular model, so I was pretty confident about my purchase. So far, it's great! The touch screen responds to the finger or the nail. You must make sure that when you touch your selection, that you give it a second to register, and hold your finger/nail there longer than just a tap. The remote has alot of buttons and is the size of a tv remote, but that doesn't bother me a bit. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

Don't know how I didn't write a review before...but I'm now compelled by the negative review this is receiving. I purchased this unit in July 2008 on Amazon.com from marketplace seller. I haven't had ANY problems with it! I use it EVERYDAY as I have a 2hr+ commute (one-way!!) with my daughter and I utilize the time for her to do educational DVDs and CDs and some entertainment. The touch screen features worked throughout. Display was great...so much so that I only realized last month that I never pealed off the protective plastic most electronics came with!! It never got hot and freeze or anything, even with >2hours constant use (DVD, CD, radio or combination of modes). Sometimes I would leave my house DVD if a disk wasn't playing, carry popcorn and have a lime in the car watching the DVD! From 2008 to 2011, changed the remote battery once. Never utilized the ipod cable because I don't have an ipod. Didn't utilize the rear view feature - wasn't interested. Audio was pretty good. I used it with factory speakers in my Nissan sedan and sometimes while watching Ice Age (one of my daughter's favorites) I would jump (surprised reaction) with the surround sound effect!!
I am in the market for another because it was removed from my car by bandits. Looking for a USB/SD feature this time around and that is the only reason I'm not buying back this model. I lost her DVD/CDs as well so I'm thinking if I only download my copies to the SD/USB flash then I won't have to repurchase DVD/CDs again.
I can't think of giving this item anything less than 5 stars.

I have owned this system for about 6 months and it has already started having issues. The rear camera I hooked up goes in and out and the sound to one of my speakers started doing the same. But, if I tap the front of the unit I can make the sound or the camera go in and out at will. SO, I send back to VALOR since it was under warranty and they have sat on it for 4 weeks and done NOTHING to fix it. VERY POOR quality customer service. So, just keep your fingers crossed you don't have issues with your unit.
Just disappointed with a product that fails to perform within the first year of owning it and a company that cares even less about fixing it!!!
