I purchased one of these a few years back and it was great, the only downside is that after about a year it started to have problems minor mechanical stuff first, grinding and Valor Multimedia SD-900W Single Din AM/FM/CD/DVD with 7-Inch Monitornot fully opening and closing properly then it just stopped opening and closing. The screen then would only work half the time. It was great while it worked and I would buy another because of the price and performance before the motor died. Be ready to buy a new one in a year or so.

Just received my new stereo/dvd player. I have heard some bad things about Valor in the past, but it seems that the vast majority of reviews here indicate an upturn in their quality. Will be installing the deck tomorrow (12/3/11). Will update review after a few weeks and adjust my rating accordingly. I am very happy with the prompt delivery and the packaging was very good.

So far, no problems at all. I am very impressed with the sound quality of this receiver. I had the VW factory Monsoon system which I have always thought highly of in the past. But the Valor system blows it out of the water. The DVD monitor opens smoothly and the picture quality is great. So far I have not found any video format that it won't play... mpg, avi, dvd, divx, wma, etc... It looks great as well. I guess I was just lucky that the violet colored backlight of the device perfectly matches my interior night lights on my dashboard. Overall, this has been a very good buy for the price I paid. I paid $128 +tax (I got it for $178 and had a $50 gift certificate). My opinion is that it could be sold for double the price and not miss a beat.
Now, it's only been a little over two weeks since I put it in. I will try to update a couple of more times before passing final judgement. I am curious as to how it handles winter and the sub-freezing temperatures.
Updated rating to 4 stars. Will adjust accordingly after I've had it a while.
